The health and safety of all MMEC families and staff is a primary concern as we monitor the new coronavirus. We have been monitoring the CDC’s recommendations for schools and child care facilities and will continue to make decisions based upon the CDC and local health department recommendations concerning COVID-19.
We have enhanced our program with the following health protocols to ensure the safety of our staff and children;
- Temperature Checks: Upon arrival all staff and children must have their temperature checked daily.
- Protective masks: All parents/guardians must wear protective masks/face coverings to enter the building. We have provided protective masks for all our staff members to wear while working with children.
- Limited building access: For the safety of our staff and children, all parents/guardians are only allowed into the lobby area to drop off and pick up children. No parents/guardians are allowed into the classrooms at this time.
- Enhanced Cleaning: High-touch areas are frequently sanitized, more frequent handwashing with children and staff. The entire building including; classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms, are fully cleaned twice per day.
- Wellness Checks: Regular wellness checks are being conducted throughout the day. If a child is unwell, parents are notified immediately and asked to come pick-up their child.
- Attendance: We are requiring that children and staff stay home for 14 days following a potential exposure to Covid-19. Please remember that your child must be kept home if they are showing any signs of illness.
